Sunday Market at Villebois Village Center

Villebois Sunday Market

Current and prospective vendors, please note: our contact information has changed. Our new telephone number is 541.206.2471. The market email address, VilleboisSundayMarket@gmail.com and the address is the same. Please update your records.

I called and left a message, but I haven't heard back yet.

We have been fortunate to receive a high level of interest from local vendors, but the downside is that we are struggling to keep up! The majority of our resources are going into making the market's second season a success, and therefore, current vendors and vendors who have submitted applications get the benefit of the fastest response time.

If you left a message wanting to learn more about the market, we encourage you to tour this site, visit our blog, VilleboisSundayMarket.blogspot.com, download an application and attend a market day. Repeated phone calls will only lengthen the time it takes market management to respond. Rest-assured, we've received your voicemail, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

I'm a craft vendor, but my materials aren't from Oregon. Is that okay?

While we prefer to have 100 percent of the materials and manufacturing to be done in Oregon, we only require the manufacturing of the product to be done in Oregon. If you make jewelry, for example, and have beads from New Mexico, but you make the necklace in Oregon, this is acceptable.

What kind of market are you?

While we do accept a variety of craft and artisan vendors in our market's "Craft Alley," as the market expands, you will find that we are primarily a farmers' market. We are not a weekly art festival. Seventy-five percent of our vendors will be from farms and nurseries. The research, as well as feedback from shoppers, indicate that this will be the best mix to sustain a market in Wilsonville for years to come.

That said, our shoppers are quite fond of our craft vendors, and if you are a craft vendor interested in selling, I encourage you to submit an application. There is no application fee.

I've submitted my application. When do I hear back?

Applications are reviewed biweekly on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.  Please do not contact market management to check on the status of your application, as messages will not be returned.  Market management will notify you via email to acknowledge receipt of your application.  You will be notified via email of the status of your application on the Wednesday following your review date (this will either be the second or the fourth Wednesday of the month).

Please note, while we do accept some local businesses at the market, it must be a good fit within the mix. Generally speaking, businesses and nonprofits are encouraged to participate in our sponsorship program to generate awareness of their services and/or products among market shoppers.

Only some of my products have been accepted. Why?

We want all of our market vendors to be successful, and while we recognize that limiting your product offering seems to run counter to that desire, we need to have a limited variety of products in each category, so that one product type doesn't overrun the market. This also ensures that if you have been approved to sell a product, you will have limited competition in this area.

I've been accepted. Now what?

The market runs weekly on Sundays through October 3. Not all vendors are with us each week, and so we will phone each vendor on the Wednesday prior to market day to let you know that we are expecting you on the upcoming Sunday. If you do not receive a phone call, but you have signed up to sell on the upcoming Sunday, please call or email right away.

I'll be at the market for the first time this Sunday. What should I expect?

Vendors are welcome to check-in as early as 8 a.m., but cars have to be off the market road by 9 a.m., so check-in needs to happen (for new vendors) before 8:45 a.m. Please check-in with the market manager upon your arrival to learn your booth assignment.

Vendor parking is generally within 100 feet from your booth, and please be sure to park on the road behind the portable restrooms.

The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You must be ready to sell by 10 a.m., and you should not begin breaking down until 2 p.m. Please note: our market's directional signage is put out as early as 7 a.m. on some Sundays, and you may receive some shoppers before 10 a.m. Unlike other markets, if a shopper comes before 10 a.m., strolls up to your booth, and wants to buy your product, you are able to do so, if you feel comfortable doing so.

We also have volunteers who will check-in with you throughout the day to ensure that you have everything you need to be successful and to keep selling. One Sunday, a volunteer even managed to find one of our vendors a Coke!

Are we still accepting vendors?

Yes, we are still accepting applications for all categories; however, we do not have space available in each category for every week. If you would like to sell at the Villebois Sunday Market, please submit an application with the dates you would like and the products you would like to sell (include months if the product is seasonal). Market management will notify you via email of the dates and products that have been accepted.

You are a new market. Will this be a profitable experience for me?

We are sensitive to the risks for a vendor in participating in a new, untested market. Our booth fees are modest, and we provide complimentary electricity, water, and garbage services for interested vendors. We are also fortunate to have the support of Costa Pacific Homes, Arbor Custom Homes and Riverstone Property Management, who have agreed to underwrite the majority of the operational and marketing costs for our first season.

The market monitors weekly traffic patterns and shopping habits. And unlike many established markets, we are able to be flexible in our space allocation and responsive to changing vendor needs.

Also, in an effort to ensure that the market's vendors are successful, we do limit the number of vendors offering the same or similar product types. This may result in your application to sell strawberries, for example, being denied for the week of June 14 but approved for the week of June 21.

And in the spirit of our market mission, we want to have an ongoing dialogue with you, the Villebois Sunday Market vendors. We welcome your feedback and suggestions about how we can make the Market a community-oriented, sustainable and profitable experience for you. Please feel free to contact us at villeboissundaymarket@gmail.com.
